Welcome to LabelSieveAI ("LabelSieveAI," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and LabelSieveAI and govern your access to and use of the LabelSieveAI mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using LabelSieveAI, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, you must not download, access, or use the Service.
LabelSieveAI helps you evaluate food products by scanning barcodes, photographing or uploading ingredient labels, or manually searching for a food category. The Service may provide AI-generated ingredient explanations, health scores, ingredient breakdowns, alternative product suggestions, and features such as Recent Scans, Favorites, and Quality Rating, along with optional Premium subscription features. LabelSieveAI is provided strictly as an informational and educational tool and is not a substitute for professional medical, dietary, or nutritional advice.
You must be at least 13 years old to use LabelSieveAI. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use LabelSieveAI with the knowledge and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
LabelSieveAI does not require or support the creation of a traditional user account. Instead, your device is identified by a randomly generated, anonymous identifier stored securely on your device, which may sync across your own devices through Apple's iCloud Keychain if you have that feature enabled. This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal information, and cannot be used by us to identify you personally.
You are responsible for the security of your own device. Because access to the Service (including any active Premium subscription reflected through this identifier) follows your device's stored identifier, you should keep your device secure, including through your device's own passcode and biometric protections.

Violating these rules may result in suspension or restriction of your access to the Service, in our sole discretion.
You may submit content to LabelSieveAI, including ingredient text, uploaded images, and food category search terms ("User Content"). You retain ownership of any User Content you submit. By submitting User Content, you grant LabelSieveAI a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, process, and transmit that User Content — including to our third-party AI providers — solely as necessary to provide and improve the Service. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene, malicious, or intentionally misleading.
LabelSieveAI is not an allergy detection tool, an allergen scanner, or a food safety verification system, and does not claim to be one. The Service does not scan for, identify, flag, or warn about the presence of any specific allergen, and does not detect cross-contact or cross-contamination risk of any kind.
LabelSieveAI scores are generated using available ingredient data and automated AI analysis. A score, rating, or "health" designation is not a medical measurement, does not guarantee food safety, and does not determine whether a specific product is safe for you or any other person to consume. Product formulations can and do change without notice, and databases such as Open Food Facts may not reflect the most current packaging or ingredient list.
If you or anyone you are purchasing food for has a food allergy or food-related medical condition, you must always read the physical product packaging yourself and rely on the manufacturer's official allergen statement — never on LabelSieveAI — before purchasing, preparing, serving, or consuming any product. In case of accidental exposure or a suspected allergic reaction, seek emergency medical care immediately; do not consult the Service.
LabelSieveAI does not guarantee weight loss, weight gain, weight maintenance, improved health, disease prevention, or any other specific physical, medical, nutritional, or health-related outcome from your use of the Service. Health Ratings, scores, and recommendations generated by the Service are informational tools intended to help you make more informed choices; they are not promises or guarantees regarding your health or body weight. Individual results, if any, will vary based on factors entirely outside of LabelSieveAI's knowledge and control.
LabelSieveAI uses third-party artificial intelligence services (including Groq and Google Gemini) to generate ingredient explanations, health scores, and alternative product suggestions. AI models can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or entirely fabricated ("hallucinated") output that may appear confident and plausible. AI-generated content should never be treated as professional nutritional, medical, dietary, or health advice, and should never be the sole basis for any decision affecting your health or safety.
Product information retrieved after a barcode scan comes from Open Food Facts, a third-party, community-maintained and openly editable database. This information may be incomplete, outdated, mislabeled, or inaccurate, and LabelSieveAI is not responsible for errors originating from that database or from product manufacturers.
LabelSieveAI offers an optional paid subscription ("Premium") that unlocks additional features, such as a higher daily AI usage limit and access to additional visual themes. Subscriptions are purchased and billed entirely through the Apple App Store using Apple's in-app purchase system, in coordination with our subscription management provider, RevenueCat.
By purchasing a Premium subscription, you acknowledge and agree that:
From time to time, LabelSieveAI may offer free trials or promotional pricing for Premium subscriptions through the App Store. Unless canceled before the trial period ends, a paid subscription will begin automatically at the trial's conclusion, and your Apple ID will be charged the then-applicable subscription price.
Because all payments are processed by Apple, refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple through your purchase history (reportaproblem.apple.com) or through your device's App Store settings. LabelSieveAI does not process refunds directly.
Because LabelSieveAI does not use accounts, there is no traditional "account deletion" process. Your Recent Scans, Favorites, Quality Rating, and theme preference are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes this local data from that device. If iCloud Keychain sync is enabled, your device's anonymous identifier may persist in your iCloud Keychain independently of the app itself; you can manage or clear this directly through your device's iCloud settings. Uninstalling the app does not cancel an active Apple subscription — you must cancel any subscription separately through your Apple ID settings to stop future charges.
LabelSieveAI and its original content, design, software, and functionality (excluding third-party content, User Content, and Open Food Facts data) are owned by LabelSieveAI or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the application for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the application, or attempt to extract its source code, except as expressly permitted by applicable law.
LabelSieveAI relies on third-party providers to operate, including Apple iCloud Keychain, Google Firestore (used solely as an anonymous, shared cache of AI analyses), Groq, Google Gemini, RevenueCat, the Apple App Store, and Open Food Facts. Your use of the Service may also be subject to the separate terms of these third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for the independent practices of these providers.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. LabelSieveAI does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any AI-generated content or product data will be accurate or complete.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall LabelSieveAI, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your access to or use of the Service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory. This includes, without limitation, damages arising from reliance on AI-generated information, food or dietary decisions, allergic reactions or adverse health events, or third-party service failures.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LabelSieveAI's total cumulative liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to LabelSieveAI in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50).
You understand and agree that your use of LabelSieveAI, and any decisions you make based on information provided by the Service, are made entirely at your own risk. You expressly assume all risk associated with such use and decisions, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LabelSieveAI and its owners, officers, employees, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or any User Content you submit.
We may suspend or restrict your access to the Service at any time and without prior notice if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, misused the Service, or engaged in fraudulent activity. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 14, 16 through 19, and 21 through 22 — will survive any termination of these Terms.
You and LabelSieveAI agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at lablesieveai@gmail.com and engaging in good-faith discussions for at least thirty (30) days before pursuing formal proceedings.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved on an individual basis only, and not as part of any class, collective, or representative action. You and LabelSieveAI each waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. This section does not apply where prohibited by mandatory applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory applicable law of your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
These Terms are an agreement between you and LabelSieveAI only, and not with Apple Inc. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the Service. In the event of any failure of the Service to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app to you; Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the Service. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo, and that you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
LabelSieveAI will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disaster, war, act of civil or military authority, or outages of third-party service providers described in Section 15.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or any feature of it, at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.
From time to time, we may make beta or experimental features available. Such features are provided "as is," may be modified or discontinued at any time, and are used entirely at your own risk.
Nothing in the Service or these Terms creates a doctor-patient, dietitian-client, or fiduciary relationship between you and LabelSieveAI. LabelSieveAI is a software tool, not a licensed healthcare provider.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date above and make the revised Terms available within the app. Continued use of LabelSieveAI after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LabelSieveAI regarding your use of the Service.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms at our sole discretion, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
